We are leading up to the next Ride-away Express Eventing Challenge at the CLA Game Fair which is taking place on Sunday 2nd August.

If you’re attending, you can find out all you need to know about the exciting competition below. You can also find out how you could walk away with some amazing prizes from Ride-away including £1,000 worth of vouchers!

The Ride-away Express Eventing Challenge is an all-action equestrian triathlon, featuring top international riders in a hotly contested one-day competition here at the CLA Game Fair.

All the elements of the competition will take place in the Main Arena.

Dressage  (10.00am – 12noon)

A freestyle dressage test to music, with competitors encouraged to express both their own personality and that of their horse through the music of their choice. The test is marked by two judges for technical merit and by a third, non-equestrian expert, for artistic impression.

Cross-country    (1.30pm – 2.30pm)

The course is approximately 700 metres long and has up to 18 obstacles, some of which are jumped in both directions. The aim is to complete the course without incurring penalties and within an optimum time. It is a real test of a rider’s ability to jump safely at a pre-determined pace.

Show jumping (3.00pm – 3.45pm)

A one-round test with a twist. Penalties are awarded for jumping faults and for finishing outside of the time allowed to complete the course. At the final fence, however, riders are confronted with the alternative ‘eraser’ obstacle and the opportunity to have penalties erased from their score.
