Here at Ride-away, we’re excited to have signed an agreement with Express Eventing, the compact form of traditional three-day eventing. Our new partnership will see the staging of competitions at Bolesworth International and the CLA Game Fair during 2015, with Ride-away as title sponsor of a new Express Eventing Challenge.
Lucinda Fredericks, Olympic eventer and Rider Ambassador for Express Eventing, said: “Until now Express Eventing has been very much a showcase for the sport’s top athletes, providing fantastic entertainment at equestrian events around the country. The development of a national series will position it as a serious competition format in its own right. This is what riders have been waiting for, the chance to get Express Eventing into their calendars and properly prepare for the demands of this arena-based format.”
We’re keen to bring the Ride-away brand to a wider audience through the Express Eventing Challenge. Speaking about the partnership, Janet Cahill, our Head of Marketing here at Ride-away, said: “We have been looking at a number of sponsorship opportunities to raise the profile of Ride-away and felt that the Express Eventing format was the best fit due to its innovative approach and the size of the audiences it has attracted in the past.”
“We are looking forward to getting the sponsorship up and running and attending the events later this year.”
Notes to Editors:
Established in 1980, Ride-away is a multichannel retail business with extensive online and catalogue operations as well as a 15,000 sq ft superstore, 10 miles north of York. With more than 17,000 products in stock and a team full of experienced riders and horse owners, Ride-away delivers to 196 countries worldwide. Ride-away was acquired by Pets at Home in December 2012.
Express Eventing has been described as the Twenty20 of equestrianism. It was born out of a passion for eventing and the desire to bring the sport to a wider audience. Express Eventing combines the three eventing disciplines of dressage, cross-country and showjumping within a single indoor or outdoor arena, enabling spectators to see all the action from one seat and to follow the progress of riders through each stage of the competition. The one-day, arena-based format was developed with the help of top event riders to create a demanding competition for horse and rider and an intimate, thrilling experience for spectators. The simplified scoring system, dressage to music and final ‘eraser’ fence in the showjumping are all unique to Express Eventing.
