This video is an easy to follow guide on how to measure and fit a new saddle for your horse. Discover our range of general purpose, racing and leather dressage saddles.
Saddles are measured in inches from the saddle point pocket to the cantle. When doing so, the general rule of thumb is as follows:
16 inches for children and teens
17 inches for teens and small adults
17.5 inches for ladies and small gentlemen
18 inches for adults
Don’t forget that you will also need to check the leg length of the rider as well as the length of the saddle as it sits on the horse!
If you are looking for a numnah or cloth to accompany your saddle as well as add comfort and protection to your ride, then browse our range online here at Ride-away where you can choose between dressage, working hunter or anti slip versions now!
